What we keep
- Your email address, because it is how you sign in and how we tell you a body is ready.
- What you rolled — the bodies you own, and the pictures, stories and films made for them.
- What you spent — a ledger of credits bought and used. Card details are handled by Stripe and never reach us.
- What you chose to show — your handle, your alias, and which of your cards is your face.
What we do not keep
No uploaded photographs — your face on this site is always a man you rolled, never an image of you. No location, no contacts, and no profile built for advertising. We do not sell anything to anybody.
Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics to count visits — which pages are read, roughly where readers are, and nothing that identifies you by name. It is configured with Google Signals and ad personalisation switched OFF, which means the data is not joined to your Google account, is not used to build an advertising audience, and does not follow you to other sites. That is the whole of the third-party tracking on this site.
Opening a post in the members' section is counted, and so is playing an episode of a drama (whether it started, whether it reached the end, and whether it was locked for you), so we know what is read and watched. If you are signed in, the count is kept against a one-way code made from your account; if you are not, against an anonymous code that changes every day. No IP address is stored, and the counts are not shared with anyone.
Who else sees it
Generating a body sends the rolled details and the prompts built from them to the AI providers that make the images, the story and the film. Payments go through Stripe. Email goes through our mail provider. Messages in the chat room are copied to our Discord server (see below). That is the whole list, and none of them are given your collection or your account.
What is public
Finished bodies appear in the gallery, with the handle of whoever rolled them. Your profile page shows your handle, your alias if you set one, and your collection. Your email address is never shown to anybody but you.
The chat room
What you post in the chat room — the text, and the name and face of the vessel you spoke as — is readable by anyone and is copied to a read-only channel on our Discord server. A message stays until you or a moderator remove it; removing it on the site also removes the Discord copy. Reports, and records of moderation (removed messages, mutes and bans), are kept so moderators can act consistently. While you have the room open and are signed in, your vessel's name and face (or, if you have none, the name you go by) appear in its list of who is here.
Cookies and storage
One cookie to keep you signed in, one to remember your language, and Google Analytics' own (see above). The Commencement demo keeps its save, its achievements and its sound settings in your browser's storage on your device; none of that is sent to us.
Your say
Ask us for a copy of what we hold, corrections to it, or deletion of your account and everything in it: hello@vessel.cards. Deleting an account removes your bodies from the gallery.
